I like the masthead, with the 't' being a tombstone. Did you know that Jack the Ripper had a pet fish? He called it Jack the Kipper.
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't, but I understand he had a sister called Jacqueline the Stripper.
DeleteHe also had an infant nephew called Jack the Nipper and an uncle who was a groper called Jack the Gripper. His great grandfather was a barber called Jack the Clipper, and his father was a pickpocket called Jack the Dipper. A lot of Jacks in that family.
DeleteJack the Clipper didn't he use to have Jack the Snipper place? His son?
DeleteNo, that was his second cousin on his father's side. He had a pet dolphin called Jack the Flipper. There was also a brother who owned a chip shop called Jack the Chipper, and another uncle who was a sea captain called Jack the Skipper. Then there was a grandson who was an exporter called Jack the Shipper. No doubt there were others.
DeleteIncidentally, they don't talk about the junkie of the family called - yup, you guessed it - Jack the Tripper.
DeleteI know that there was a Scottish connection too (you may have heared of him?), a grandfather rumored to have been the infamous 'Jock the Ripper' of Edinburgh he had a step brother called Jack who worked for the local bus depo as the main excursion driver,"Jack the day-tripper"
DeleteAnd don't forget the stand-up comedian called Jack the Quipper.
DeleteAh yes, he was married to a woman called Jackie whom made the papers in the mid 80’s as the infamous madam/dominatrix "Jack the Whiper".
